During your visit, enjoy an exciting boat ride through the sanctuary’s narrow creeks and waterways. You may spot a variety of birds and other wildlife while exploring Dangamal Island, which is also known for its crocodile conservation centre. You can also discover the dense forests, small water pools, and ancient temple ruins found in the region.

Bhitarkanika National Park covers approximately 145 square kilometres and is an important area for wildlife conservation and biodiversity. Its unique landscape includes mangrove forests, rivers, estuaries, mudflats, creeks, and backwaters.

The sanctuary is home to several fascinating species, including giant saltwater crocodiles, king cobras, Indian pythons, and water monitor lizards. A trip to Bhitarkanika offers a wonderful opportunity to experience Odisha’s rich wildlife and explore one of its most remarkable natural treasures.

Arrival at Bhubaneswar; Drive to Bhitarkanika National Park

Upon arrival at Bhubaneswar Railway Station or Airport, meet our representative and drive to Bhitarkanika National Park. On the way, visit the famous Buddhist sites of Ratnagiri, Lalitgiri, and Udayagiri. After reaching Bhitarkanika, check in to your jungle resort. Later, visit the Dangmal Crocodile Breeding Centre and Museum. Enjoy an overnight stay at the jungle resort.

Trip to Dangmal & Habalikathi / Gahirmatha Marine Sanctuary

Finish breakfast by 8:00 AM and check out from the resort. Visit the Dangmal Crocodile Breeding Centre to see different crocodile species and explore the Interpretation Centre and Museum. Afterward, take a boat from Dangmal Jetty to Habalikhati, enjoying the scenic journey through rivers and mangrove creeks. Along the way, you may spot various birds, including kingfishers, egrets, Brahminy kites, and eagles. Arrive at Habalikhati Jetty around 1:00 PM. From there, trek approximately 2.5 km through the beautiful mangrove forest to reach the Habalikhati Forest Rest House, located near the sea beach. After lunch, relax and explore the beach. If you visit between late December and March, you may also have the chance to spot Olive Ridley sea turtles. Enjoy an overnight stay at Habalikhati Forest Rest House.

Habalikathi – Bhitarkanika Forest Block

Start your morning with a refreshing walk along the seashore. If you visit between late December and March, you may get a chance to see Olive Ridley turtles on the beach. After breakfast, check out from the resort and begin your journey, stopping at Bhitarkanika Forest Block along the way. Explore the old temple, Lotus Pond, and the historic Hunting Tower used by the royal rulers in the past. Climb the watchtower to enjoy the surrounding natural beauty and, if you are lucky, spot wild boars, jungle cats, spotted deer, and different species of birds. Reach the resort by around 2:30 PM and enjoy your lunch. In the afternoon, visit a nearby village to experience local life and culture. Later, admire the beautiful sunset over the Brahmani River. Enjoy tea or coffee in the evening, followed by dinner and an overnight stay at the resort.

Puri / Bhubaneshwar

After breakfast, check out from the resort. Then drive to Bhubaneswar Railway Station/ Airport for your onward journey home. The tour ends with sweet memories.
